About Us
Jill Ku.com is a place for those who care about people.
Through her work and this website, Jill hopes to help promote a better understanding between her listeners and the rest of the world.
Jill was with the Chinese Service at Voice of America before she joined Radio Free Asia, a non-profit station based in Washington, DC., when it started in 1996. She hosts a weekly half-hour radio show called "Different Voices" which interviews prominent Chinese from around the globe. She was also one of the first US broadcasters to facilitate a daily call-in program that accepts calls from people inside China. Since 1997, she has recorded over 3000 hours of calls from callers of all corners of China. Through this program, named "Voices of the People", Jill stays in touch with a vast number of Chinese people who desire and treasure the opportunity to speak their minds.
Aside from her radio work, Jill has produced and hosted a one-hour TV documentary titled "On the Record with Jill Ku -- China's Road to Democracy" which aired on Public Broadcasting Service channels in 2002.
Jill worked as a print journalist for many years after getting her degree in journalism. She was a diplomatic news reporter for Central Daily News in Taiwan and a Washington correspondent for World Journal, one of the largest newspapers serving the Chinese American community in the US.
